"Sweet Dreams till sun beams find you, sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you..."

I love 'old' music. Well not all of it but The Mamas And the Papas for example. There is something about those old songs that is rare in the new music. I can't get a grip on what it is but something is missing these days.... don't get me wrong I love the new music but I guess that is pretty obvious in this blog....
It's hard to explain what the old songs mean to me. It has probably something to do with how I grew up (my mum was/is a 'Mamas and Papas' fan). I've always listened to those songs like 'Monday,Monday' or 'Dream a little Dream'. I still love them. Oh well 'Monday Monday' can indeed be a little bit annoying on a horrible Monday.... But there the lyrics help you out
"Every other of the week is fine yeah"
And there are so many things I've learned from those songs...
Without 'Scott McKenzie' I would probably make a complete fool of myself in San Francisco
or 'Albert Hammond' who taught us to believe in those warnings or at least take an umbrella along
or 'James Taylor' when he put down the meaning of friendship in a wonderful song
or 'B.J: Thomas' to tell us that sometimes you may be down but that this sadness will leave soon enough
and then there's 'Don McLean' and I can't put into words what the song 'Crying' means to me.....
and I guess I could go on like this forever. Or at least for a long time.....
