"I don't know what stressed me first, or how the pressure was fed...."

Most people who travel by public transport almost every day will know what I am about to say. Some of them will have been in similar situations and others might have been onlookers. Sometimes there are other passengers that bring out the worst in us and some of them are imposible to ignore. And then again there are those who bring out the worst in us, are impossible to ignore and are stubborn as hell. You just can't seem to bring any common sense into them.
I am a patient person and I try to behave myself especially in public places. I try to be nice to people I don't know and I am not easily annoyed.
But I am also stubborn and somehow proud especially of my friends. I am kind of protective and although I can handle it if people insult me, I can't handle it if people begin insulting my friends!
Yesterday my best friend and I had one of those wonderful idiots-using-public-transports-moments. Those two idiots that entered our compartment were into trouble the moment they saw us. I don't know what went wrong in their brains but somehow they figured that the four of us would be a nice combination....
Since my best friend and I were listening to music on our headphones I thought it would be easy to ignore them.... I definitely underestimated their stubborness! After they had tried to talk to us and saw no reaction in our faces they started talking about us and I asked myself if they were really so stupid to believe that we weren't able to hear them.... another point where I underestimated them.
After twenty minutes of this bull---- my best friend had enough and asked them if there was any problem. Idiot A then, obviously shocked by her reaction, said: „Why are you so pissed I just wanted to ask you a question!“ My best friend: „Go ahead if it shuts you up!“ Idiot A: „Where are you from?“
I don't know what my best friend was thinking in that exact moment but I was stunned (in lack of a better word) He could not possibly think that we were going to flirt with him on any level, did he?
After a few minutes a nice verbal fight was going on and since Idiot A and Idiot B were talking against my best friend I felt like joining in although my best friend had better arguments (or lets say insults) and was defintely louder. After I had asked them if they were really as dumb to believe that we haven't heard them before I suggested that they shut up since this was still a PUBLIC transport and it would have been nice if we could've at least tried to get along.
A few more insults followed and at some point Idiot B suggested that we keep on listening to our music and they stop talking so that we just get along at some point. That was fine with me I plucked my headphones back in as did my friend and kept on listening to my music.
USUALLY this is the end of the story but Idiot A seemed to have experienced a mayor lack in his education. I couldn't believe my ears as he started to insult my best friend. I can't even remember pulling my headphones out I just remember insulting him again. Idiot B tried to calm me asking what my problem was. My best friend stood up saying we would go to the next compartment. At this point I grabbed my stuff and started talking to Idiot B about what he thinks my problem is if his little friend starts insulting my best friend I won't stay put and have my mouth shut. Idiot B said something like: „But you don't have to leave the compartment!“ I don't quite remember what I answered but I know it was something about when this little ---- starts insulting us we will definitely leave and he shouldn't be so suprised if other people around him behave the same way.... I must have hit some spot there judging his face!
In the other compartment I felt the need to go back and hit Idiot A with something. And somehow it was hard for me to stay in my seat and keep quiet.
Eventough it's not always this bad this happens almost everytime we travel by train. It's always the same kind of people, the same kind of idiots. And I know that I will keep on traveling by train for the next two years.....
